Greetings IBEA Members: Hopefully you all are enjoying your well deserved summer breaks and enjoying this break from the heat this week. The last two weeks have been very busy for everyone in Business Education across the State of Indiana. For those of you who travelled to Carmel High School for Project Based Learning or Middle School Level training, thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our great profession. Some of you maybe travelled to Dallas, Texas for the Business Professionals of America, National Leadership Conference. This conference was postponed to June due to the overwhelming concern of the H1N1 outbreak back in May of this year. Indiana was represented very well on stage; congratulations go out to the schools that represented Indiana at the conference, in addition, thank you to the advisors who took time out of their busy summer schedules. This past week your IBEA executive board met for its annual organization meeting in Plainfield, Indiana. This meeting was an opportunity for regional representatives to work on activities and projects for their districts, and gave incoming officers to the board opportunity to learn more about their role in the organization. I am excited about the new offerings and opportunities that are available this upcoming year to our membership. Your leadership team is working hard to offer Indiana business educators top notch professional development, support, and resources for our profession. I encourage you all to discuss IBEA with your departments and encourage your co-workers to join today! It’s hard to believe that my year as serving as your IBEA president has come to a close. The past year has been challenging, but rewarding as we all have faced the ups and downs of many obstacles that have come our way. We all have had to overcome some difficult hurdles, but with each other’s support and ongoing dedication, we have and will continue to be successful! As I look forward, I see IBEA’s family becoming even stronger, and I see a group of professionals that hold a bond that is stronger than anything. Thank you for your support and dedication to our programs and our professional family. As I step down as president, I am confident that our new president, Mrs. Dena Irwin, will lead and guide us to victory as we Survive Our Changing World! As always, if you need anything from IBEA, we are just an email or phone call away. Take care and we will chat soon!
